Washington Place 

In the late 1800’s, the site located in Appleton’s downtown district, was originally a boarding house for the many farmers who came to town to sell their goods. During the years that followed, The Conway Hotel was built in 1963. In 1976, the need for affordable housing for elderly was recognized and the hotel was renovated into apartments for low income seniors. 

Location

Located only one block north of College Avenue, Washington Place is only moments away from most anything you need. The Valley Transit bus terminal is just across the street offering scheduled bus service to anywhere in Appleton and surrounding Fox Cities. The terminal is also home to the Greyhound Bus Lines. Relax, read the paper or borrow a book, movie or CD from the public library just across the street. Exit our Oneida street door and you are seconds away from entering the Avenue Mall, home to several unique shops, food, beauty salon, and much more. A short stroll through the mall takes you directly to College Avenue Downtown Appleton offers almost any kind of shopping you desire. You’ll also find many fine restaurants. Some of the celebrations that are held Downtown Appleton are Art in the Park, Octoberfest, Celebrate, Flag Day Parade, Christmas Parade and many more.

 

Amenities

Washington Place is a secured building from 6:00p.m. to 6:00a.m. weekdays and all the time on the weekends. Only tenants have access to the building. Parking is provided in one of the two ramps located just outside the building. On-site maintenance staff will provide prompt attention to problems that may arise. Coin-operated washers and dryers are available in the laundry room, located just steps of the elevator on our lower level. Our lobby is furnished with cozy furniture and a TV to visit with other residents or friends. You are invited to use one of several large meeting rooms for private parties with family and friends at no extra cost.
